Thank God Thais are so trustworthy. My ass has been handing them too much money and I haven’t 
been schemed on once, that I know of.

The best part of Thailand is that when it doesn’t smell like sewer, it smells like delicious home 
cooked food. Everything is metal and fluorescent and it makes me love plants so much more.
Right now I’m watching a man try to sell sex shows to pedestrians while hookers walk to their jobs 
in the nearby soi. My skin is always sweaty and my mind is always on edge. I listen more than I 
speak and am continuously amazed by the people I meet: jada, Rick, josh, gabby. Everyone is so 
beautiful here, their skin is so colored and my favorite compliment since I’ve gotten here was 
someone telling me my skin looked like honey like hers.

So two weeks ago I said I would finish up my elephant experience that occurred three weeks ago,... but OBVIOUSLY someone is a little too busy living to actually have time to reflect. Mae Rim Elephant Sanctuary: Chiang Mai It is very very important that you 1) do not support establishments that allow you to ride elephants or watch them paint/perform tricks/ dance/ etc and 2) do your research on any "sanctuary" you consider and make sure it is rescuing distressed elephants rather than pretending to be something other than a refuge. Reading some reviews unveiled that some "sanctuaries" were actually caught hooking elephants after guests leave or seen hiding fencing and chains. These beasts should not be taken advantage of. Hiatus Ends, Adventure Begins

Someone caught the travel bug. I did. And I ran around like a diseased maniac for about 2.5 months getting all the paperwork together so I could make the best study abroad experience EVER be possible in a very short time frame. Because I can't choose one place, and because I must be extra in everything, I will be studying (insert nerdy interests)* in Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji for ten weeks.  *Nerdy interests = The Triple Bottom Line, when a company/business/manufacturer takes into account the social, economic, and environmental aspects which are impacted.  While Cal Poly does offer some amazing options to study abroad, I chose to, instead, go rogue and find my own program.  Step 1. Google: "sustainability study abroad" Which involved a lot of this and this Until! I stumbled upon  this   site! Which enables me to travel to four amazing places, study what I want (affordably), and only miss one quarter of the Cal Poly year....

WWOOFing: week 5; for future WWOOFers

HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY READ THIS There are many things I have learned from this experience living in Hawaii/ working for my room and board/ finding fun things to do when you have no friends. Whether you are vacationing, exploring, homeless, bored, travelling WHATEVER, I think this post will be conducive to anyone who needs to know the basics on traveling in Hawaii.  Something I, personally, struggle with... Packing .  All I brought on this trip was a duffle bag of clothing, backpack of extra toys/ toiletries, and a sleeping bag.  Clothing : that will have to vary and depend on where you go and what you are doing. Since I was working on a farm, I brough about five shirts and shorts I can get dirty and two nice outfits that are in exchangeable.
